Print-n-Press Digital Color, (formerly Print-n-Press Graphics, Inc.) has found a new way to link the convenience of the computer to the power of the printing press. The company has begun operating what's known as a Direct Imaging press at its 10,000 square foot facility located at 126 West College Ave.
The computer-to-press system, called the Heidelberg Quickmaster DI, prints directly from electronic files. That direct connection eliminates most of the manual steps that go into conventional full-color printing.
That, in turn, enables Print-n-Press Digital Color to produce lithographic quality results faster and offer better prices to its customers. The savings are particularly significant on color jobs that don't require a lot of copies.
Because the direct computer connection minimizes set-up with the Quickmaster DI, lithographic quality color suddenly becomes fast and affordable, whether you're printing only 200 sheets or 20,000.
Print-n-Press Digital Color has installed the new press to respond to the growing demand for what the industry calls short-run color printing. As marketers move to target their audiences more precisely, the quantities they need of their individualized sales pieces decreases.

Since it uses a network of laser diodes to make its own printing plates, the system consumes no film or processing chemicals like conventional presses.
